Practice

Seb has repeatedly been first across major projects where AI and premium entertainment meet.

A

Likeness, legacy & IP

He has partnered with Netflix, Mattel and the estates of legendary actors and music icons, leading productions that required more than technical innovation. These projects called for rigorous handling of likeness, legacy and intellectual property. Working with iconic estates and globally recognized IP has made him a leading voice on AI ethics and IP security, and on building production models where rights holders, talent and audiences can trust what is being made and how.

B

Workflow design

He is known as an innovator in workflow design. Seb pioneers hybrid pipelines that combine generative tools with traditional craft, which lets teams move faster without sacrificing quality or control. That approach has made him one of the most in-demand executive producers for AI-native studios. He has led high-profile studio tests for major Hollywood studios and acclaimed directors, showing what AI-assisted production can deliver at the highest creative level.

C

Advisory

Seb advises Fortune 500 companies on AI strategy and hybrid production models for 2026 and beyond. His work has been recognized by the Los Angeles Times, CBS and Variety, which have highlighted him as a leader and innovator in AI-driven entertainment.

D

Firsts on air

Seb led the first-ever use of generative AI on network television, partnering with Fox Entertainment on The Masked Singer. He has since delivered more than 100 pieces of broadcast AI content. Companies and artists he has worked with include Netflix, Disney, Fox, Mattel, AMBUSH, Apple Music, Atlantic Records, Univision, the U.S. Department of Defense, Coldplay, Muse and J Balvin, as well as the estates of legendary actors and music icons.

MONOROMA

Seb is co-founder of MONOROMA, a joint venture with Tom Graham: a full-service AI production studio and R&D lab based in Culver City, with a presence in Mexico City, London and Lisbon.

Its focus is hybrid productions and complete generative AI storytelling, and it is pioneering grey box and grey stage hybrid production, a new way of making film and television that pairs real performance with generated worlds. The studio builds broadcast-quality moving images by blending generative AI with traditional craft, backed by proprietary tooling. The result meets the standard of a conventional pipeline in a fraction of the time and at a fraction of the cost.

The studio draws on a global network of more than 300 specialist AI artists, which it scales up or down to match each project. That gives it AI throughput with human craft and quality control at volume.

MONOROMA wrote, produced and creatively directed Dream Protocol: ON (Barbie x YOON) for Mattel and AMBUSH. The 90-second, fully AI-generated film, set in a futuristic Tokyo, follows a “machine Barbie” as she wakes up for the first time. It has been nominated for and won numerous prestigious global creative awards.

What the studio does

MONOROMA handles a project from first concept to final master under one roof: writing and development, direction, production, rights and finishing. Clients brief once and get back work that is ready to air, delivered to broadcast spec in the formats their distribution requires.

01

Hybrid production

AI generation blended shot by shot with live-action plates, VFX, editorial and finishing.

02

Complete generative AI storytelling

Fully AI-native films, series and commercials.

03

AI animation

Original character and motion-driven animation across styles, from stylized and graphic to fully rendered. This includes large-scale pipelines that hold a consistent character style across hundreds of episodes.

04

World-building & environments

Bespoke worlds and sets that would be cost-prohibitive to shoot or build practically.

05

IP & franchise infrastructure

Universe asset packs, style guides and layered narrative worlds that support both official content and fan creation at scale.

06

A/B testing & story divergence

Multiple narrative variants of the same piece, with different hooks, cuts, characters or endings, so audience data can steer the creative.

Signature process

MONOROMA: ONE

At the heart of the studio is MONOROMA: ONE, its signature hybrid process. Actors are shot for real on a neutral grey stage under controlled light, and the world is generated around them: locations, crowds, weather, and scale no budget could build. The environment is composed live on set, so the director sees the finished frame while the crew is still on the floor. Performance and generated world are matched frame by frame, then graded and mastered in-house. A lean crew from the traditional film world, with cinematographers working alongside AI technical directors, delivers productions in half the usual schedule with full creative control.

For major studios, MONOROMA works as an external R&D lab. It prototypes new formats, tests new IP at the speed of the technology, and hands the winners back to the studio for its own production and distribution.

The partnership

MONOROMA pairs Seb’s production and creative leadership with Tom Graham’s background as one of the most influential technologists in generative AI. Tom is the co-founder and CEO of Metaphysic, the hyperreal AI company recognized among TIME’s 100 Most Influential Companies of 2023. Metaphysic became known for viral moments like @DeepTomCruise and for bringing Elvis Presley back to the stage on America’s Got Talent. It also partnered with CAA on generative AI tools and with Miramax to create hyperreal performances for the feature film Here. Metaphysic was later acquired by DNEG.

Before Metaphysic, Tom co-founded Heavy.ai (formerly OmniSci/MapD) at MIT, a GPU-accelerated analytics company backed by NVIDIA, Google, NEA and In-Q-Tel. He also founded Codec.ai, a machine-learning content analytics platform used by brands including Red Bull, Unilever and L’Oréal. A former capital markets attorney and Harvard Law School visiting scholar, Tom is a leading voice on AI ethics, digital likeness and individual rights. Those same principles shape how MONOROMA works.

03

Entrusted with the world’s most sensitive IP

Netflix, Mattel, Fox and the estates of legendary actors and music icons trust Seb with some of the most valuable and sensitive intellectual property in entertainment.

He is an expert in IP protection for generative AI. He has built security protocols that treat a client’s characters, likenesses and brand assets with the same rigor as an unreleased film:

01

Closed and offline generation

For the most sensitive IP, work runs on locally hosted models on secured workstations, so assets never leave a controlled environment or reach a public cloud.

02

Vetted, enterprise-grade tools

Where cloud tools are used, they are approved enterprise tiers with contractual protections, including no training on client data, together with documented data handling that clients’ legal teams review before production begins.

03

Cleared rights and likeness

Client IP, digital replica agreements and likeness rights are managed end to end. Talent and estate approvals are in place before generation starts, which leaves a clean, defensible and auditable record of what was made, how and with whose permission.

04

Locked-down access

NDA-bound artists, controlled asset access and secure delivery mean sensitive material is seen only by the people who need it.

That combination of creative ambition and disciplined safety is why rights holders who would never hand their IP to an AI vendor bring it to Seb.

04

Music & Creative Direction

Seb’s instinct for spotting where culture and technology are heading was shaped by two decades in the music industry.

XL Recordings

He began his career at XL Recordings under founder Richard Russell, rising quickly from the mailroom to Product Manager, and then to Director of A&R. Along the way he worked with Adele, Radiohead, Thom Yorke, The White Stripes, M.I.A., Basement Jaxx and Peaches, including A&R work on Adele’s landmark albums 19 and 21 and M.I.A.’s Kala. Outside XL, he contributed A&R to Leona Lewis’s I Am and Steve Angello’s Wild Youth.

CrowdSurge / Songkick

Seb’s entrepreneurial streak ran alongside his label career. He co-founded CrowdSurge, an artist-controlled ticketing platform that took on Ticketmaster directly. Its early clients included Coldplay, Foo Fighters and Paul McCartney. After the company raised outside investment, Seb sold his stake to Warner Music Group owner Len Blavatnik at a $30 million valuation. CrowdSurge was eventually acquired into Songkick.

TIDAL

Seb became Creative Director of TIDAL, Jay-Z’s artist-owned streaming platform, and helped shape its identity in the early days of the streaming era. He worked directly with Jay-Z, one on one, to roll out TIDAL’s global content strategy, development and production.

Artists & executive production

He founded the electronic label FMLY with Universal Music, and executive produced Giorgio Moroder’s comeback album Déjà Vu, featuring Britney Spears, Kylie Minogue, Sia, Charli XCX and Kelis. “Right Here, Right Now” with Kylie Minogue topped Billboard’s Dance Club Songs chart, and the title track with Sia also reached No. 1 on the Billboard Dance chart. Across his career he has worked with Tyler, The Creator, Thom Yorke, The Prodigy, Rusko, N.A.S.A., Ferry Corsten, Markus Schulz, Lionel Richie, At the Drive-In, DJ Fresh and Brendan Canning of Broken Social Scene, and has executive produced music videos for Muse, J Balvin, Rosalía and Ozuna, John Legend, Jack White, Lauren Jauregui, Kevin Gates, Night Moves and Elkin.

His creative work has since spanned collaborations with Coldplay, J Balvin and Jay-Z, as well as projects for the U.S. Department of Defense.

That run, from A&R and artist-led ticketing to streaming, label building and executive producing, is the foundation he now brings to AI. He leads studios that use the technology to tell better stories and to protect the artists, estates and IP behind them.

Seb currently resides in Los Angeles.
